Pale green oval fruits with an olive green streak, turning slightly yellow when fully ripe. Probably the most frost hardy Greengage; superb flavour. A heavy crop produced late August-early September. Self fertile, no pollinators are required. Pixy rootstock is dwarf and can be maintained at around 200cm's in height & width. It is an ideal choice for a smaller garden or intensive orchard and is also suitable for growing n a 24" container. St Julien is a vigorous tree making a more traditionally orchard-sized tree of around 280-300cm's in height and spread. A heavy cropping tree, ideal for lawn, grassy areas, paddock, etc. Fan trained Greengage trees are used against a wall; you will need not less than 160 x 180cm’s for a fan tree. Please note we do not supply ready trained trees; this product is a young tree suitable for training yourself, in situ. Such trees usually settle to cropping within 2 or 3 seasons. A favourable south or west facing aspect is recommended for Greengages.
