Cordon Apple trees are a good choice for restricted areas and a fence or wall. They can be grown at a 45degree angle, or upright. The rootstock we use for our cordon Bakers Delicious tree is M9 which is the best stock for cordon trees. Plant 60-80cm’s apart
Bakers Delicious has it’s origins in Wales and was introduced first in 1934. Although not a well known variety is retains a loyal following amongst apple enthusiasts. One of the best flavoured earlies.
Bakers Delicious – Season:
Early; harvest Bakers Delicious from late August or early September depending on the season, the fruits can be then be used throughout September.
Bakers Delicious – appearance:
A very decorous apple of medium sized, vividly flushed deep orange-red over gleaming gold.

Powerful, an excellent balance of sweetness and acidity.
Uses:
Primarily used for dessert but may also be cooked with early in the season.

This is a tree of medium vigour and one which can crop very heavily. Generally suited to most areas.
