Early apple varieties can ripen from late July, and through August. They are generally unsuited to long-term storage but the fresh picked flavour of these early dessert apple trees can be very fine and refreshing indeed. You can often enjoy the early apple tree varieties straight from the tree. They often are highly coloured and attractive too.
